Natural Stone and Curves Garden
A large new house extension created a height change of a metre directly behind the house. A generous lower level was created adjacent to the house providing two seperate spaces for outdoor seating. The upper levels new circular lawn flows with the circular theme.
Walls were crafted using local limestone and were paired with limestone paving. Planting softens and lightly defines the different levels and spaces. Plants including trailing rosemary will soon start to tumble over the walls.
The work continues with further planting, paths, stone walls, fencing and wildflower meadow.

Modern Courtyard Garden
A contemporary driveway and inner front courtyard garden with an industrial twist, juxtapose with plenty of soft, natural style planting. A bespoke fence and gate divides the driveway and inner courtyard, as well as creating privacy and screening from vehicles and the road beyond.
The courtyard is now a tranquil yet dynamic space, using locally sourced and bespoke materials. Planting of grasses, edible herbs, perennials and multistem trees greens the area and creates texture and interest. The organic shaped beds soften the wide, linear paths and create playful movement throughout the space.
The driveway has enough parking space for a busy family as well as visitors, and is softened with evergreen hedging, trees and planting beds.

Serene Garden
Three seperate spaces were created throughout the garden including a dining space under a pergola, a lounge and firepit space and relaxing space with loungers.
The spaces are connectioned with reclaimed stepping stones and paths. Planting gently screens and surrounds the spaces, creating an immersive quality.
The limestone paving blends with the surrounding character and the reclaimed dry stone walling. Planting is textural, green and lush.

Relaxed Somerset Garden
Dining and relaxing spaces are nestled within planting, creating intimate areas, whilst still retaining an open feel overall.
A still water bowl, lush woodland planting and mixed reclaimed and clay pavers create an informal and inviting space for relaxing and socialising, with space for a firepit for cosy evenings around a fire.
New paths lead the eye, and on a pratical note, the new lawn can cleverly be mown straight over the slimline brick edging, making maintenance easy.

Contemporary garden
This family garden was designed for relaxing and to connect the large open plan kitchen diner with the outside space.
Birch trees and evergreen climbers line the back boundary, adding year round interest and structure, along with bay pyramids, witch hazel and blocks of hedging. The grasses and perennials are soft and textural.
A water feature and lounge chairs create a restful environment.
New family garden
A garden designed and built from a complete blank canvas of bare soil, with a lot to fit in, including a front terrace, hot tub, pergola, back terrace, trampoline and small swimming pool.
Planting slightly screens the seperate spaces, with plenty of wildlife friendly flowers. The slope is retained in a low-key way with composite deck terraces and corten steel.

Green Front Garden and Driveway
This front garden needed a complete tranformation from tarmac and concrete to a welcoming, green space. Using paving setts throughout, the whole space is brought together. Lines of miniature evergreen grasses run across the path to reduce water run-off and to create interest.
Planting was created using drought tolerant, insect friendly planting. A wildlife friendly hawthorn tree and hedge was planted along the front boundary to screen and green the road.

Seaside front garden
The clients of this front garden wanted off road parking with a contemporary feel, a slightly screened walk leading up the house as well as a porch re-design. Sandstone steps lead from the drive to the house, weaving around raised beds filled with low maintenance planting. A small tree screens the walkway and provides a focal point. Finally, the slatted timber porch increases light levels while ensuring privacy to the back of the garden.

Planting
Polly provides planting plans from whole gardens to just one new border. Planting plans ensure the correct number of plants are planted, with an overall harmony to the planting scheme as well as providing year round interest. She also creates ID charts and maintenance charts.
Polly has a particular interest in low maintenance, naturalistic and ecological planting.
