Philosophy

Philosophy

I believe that a thoughtfully designed garden can add so much value to our lives. Not only do they increase your living space, but they also increase you and your family’s sense of wellbeing as well as being a space to relax in and enjoy.

I seek to create immersive gardens that connect us to nature, with a sensitive approach to the immediate and surrounding environment. I enjoy creating truly bespoke spaces that work for you, using a careful balance of plantings and landscaping materials.

The soft and natural plantings I create are designed to reflect your particular likes and style, from cottage and traditional to contemporary. They provide year-round interest and are often lower maintenance than most. I’m constantly looking for the best and most beautiful pavers, brick and timber to create the most suitable structural elements for your garden with some flare and special design elements, whilst keeping designs elegant and timeless.

“From ordering samples, answering emails, recommending plants and suppliers, sourcing quotes for the work and checking in to see how it’s going, Polly has been fantastic throughout.”

My work

I create outdoor spaces across Somerset, Wiltshire, Bath, Devon, Dorset, Gloustershire and London. I hold a deep understanding and knowledge of design, plants and materials and how to combine these elements to create harmonious, balanced and beautiful spaces. I like to create gardens with natural elements and features, working with the surrounding environment.

I love both plants and design in equal measure, embarking on my first horticulture course back in 2008, and have been learning ever since. Now an experienced plantswoman, I have a particular interest in creating naturalistic and ecological plantings. I have a diploma with distinction in Garden Design and Horticulture, as well as a BSc in Geography.
