Firstly, I come over for the consultation where we have a good chat about what you would like, talk through ideas and we have a look around your garden.
I then draw up the information from our meeting into a brief. We can swap ideas and photos so your garden really reflects your style and ideas. Along with the brief I provide a fee proposal, tailored to your needs.
The next step is to come and carry out a survey which will enable me to draw an accurate, scaled design. We come and take soil samples, dimensions, levels, photos and take site notes. After this I create a CAD scaled drawing of your garden. A Landscape Surveyor will to be employed for larger or more complex gardens, or you may have a site topographical survey already.
I then work up a scaled concept design. I also provide a concept board and 3D visuals of the newly designed garden, to help you envision how the space will look. At this point we meet to talk through the proposed design, we can work through any changes as needed, as well as looking at some material samples.
After this, I go on to complete the final Masterplan design. This includes the overall, scaled layout and general specification for the garden.
These drawings are produced for the landscapers to be able to accurately and easily understand how the garden is to be built and includes exact layouts of each material, scope of works, dimensions and any construction drawings that may be needed.
In order for your newly designed garden to be turned into reality successfully, it’s advised that I steer the project to completion. I arrange the tendering stage with trusted, experienced landscapers who know how to work from designs. I then carry out site visits during the build stage to ensure the garden is being built to the design, and am on hand so that any on site issues are resolved swiftly.
I offer a comprehensive planting design service including Planting Plans, photo Plant ID, Plant list as well as the sourcing and ordering of all plants and trees from high quality nurseries. The Planting Plans map the name and location of each plant, using my extensive knowledge and expertise to guide this. I work with and coordinate gardeners to carry out planting work.
I can draw up easy to follow plant maintenance plans, which many people find helpful and am often involved in an ongoing capacity, guiding you or your gardening team.
